This is the line-up of events you can expect on Social Media Day, June 30, 2010.

7:00pm: Chomp Chomp at Choppe Choppe – Dinner available for purchase

8:00pm: Friend Request – Welcome from Unicorn Press, The Rainmaker Network, and Hollywood Arts

8:15pm: Music Performances (vocals, acoustic guitars) by Hollywood Arts Music School

8:45pm: Fireside chats: The integration and innovation of technology and education

8:45 pm: Journal writing workshop with inner-ctiy teacher Anna Koo (for Hollywood Arts performers only)

9:15 pm: Truly social networking: mix and mingle with event attendees and continue the festivities in downtown Culver City!

9:45 pm: Raffle Winner Announcement: Two G-Tech by Hitachi External Hard Drives (valued at a couple hundred dollars EACH!)

10:00pm: Signing off

The Social Media Club of Los Angeles has been invited to participate in the day’s festivities. Over 1,000 of their current members will be invited to help support education, homelessness, and the arts on June 30th in Culver City.

Social Media Day LA established!

The Rainmaker Network and Unicorn Press are joining forces to launch Los Angeles’ first annual Social Media Day LA. The event will serve as a fundraiser for Hollywood Arts, a local academy for homeless and foster care young people located in the heart of Hollywood. The Center offers classes in media, music and the commercial arts—giving young people a chance to learn about a variety of creative activities, sharpen their thinking skills and prepare them for jobs in the creative industries.

Current sponsors include Choppe Choppe, G-Technology by Hitachi, and Radical Radio!
